Our Critical Repair Program specifically focuses on issues that affect the health and safety of the household.

It’s always best to call and discuss your home’s issue with our Programs Assistant. We prioritize our work based on greatest threat to health and safety, degree of urgency, and the resources we have for projects. Our Programs Assistant can also connect you with community resources.

Electrical service and panel upgrades, wiring issues
Flooring repairs – safety issues only
Stair and porch railings, handrails and treads – safety issues only
Window and door repairs and replacements – safety issues only
Smoke Detectors/CO detectors
Minor environmental hazard remediation
Minor weatherization

Note: The geographic area we serve largely depends on available funds. We primarily work within the city limits of Kalamazoo, and sometimes have funding for projects outside the city but within Kalamazoo County.
