Community Homeworks Named 2025 Outstanding Organization of the Year by AFP West Michigan

Community Homeworks is honored to be recognized as the 2025 Outstanding Organization of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) West Michigan Chapter. The award was presented at AFP West Michigan’s National Philanthropy Day celebration on November 12 at Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids.

National Philanthropy Day recognizes outstanding achievements by individuals, foundations, corporate philanthropists, fundraising volunteers, and professional fundraisers whose work has made a lasting impact on society. The event included a morning of professional development which member of the team attended, followed by an awards luncheon featuring a keynote from T. Clay Buck, co-host of the Fundraising is Funny podcast.

Executive Director Chris Praedel spoke in a vignette award introduction video, which premiered at the celebration luncheon. You can watch it here.

“Being recognized as the Outstanding Organization of the Year is a tremendous honor for our entire team,” said Chris Praedel. “This award reflects the dedication and passion of our mission-driven staff, board, and supporters who work tirelessly to serve our community through critical repairs, empowering education, and tool lending.”
