The results are in. Furnace Fest raised more than $11,000 for programs!
A great time was had by all who attended our fifth annual fundraiser event on September 23. Music by two bands kept things hopping. Bidding got competitive in the silent auction, with many nice items that folks took home. Some of the items were custom created for the event by select artists.
Something new this year that made for lively fun was the appearance of celebrity bartenders. Kate Tillotson and Andy Dominianni from WWMT-TV Newschannel 3 were behind the bar serving up the Community Homeworks “Gimme Shelter” Scottish ale as well as the many other tasty brews that Boatyard Brewing produces. We thank Andy and Kate for helping out and Newschannel 3 for their promotional support.
Another new item this year was the outdoor tent, the largest that Boatyard has ever had on their patio. This allowed for the addition of the second band and overflow seating.
Community Homeworks thanks everyone who attended, donated, participated, and sponsored this event.
